Arizona’s Immigration Law: Three No’s and a Maybe
A clear and concise discussion on the SCOTUS ruling is given on Harrisburg, PA’s WITF SmartTalk by Prof. Jill E. Family. In breaking down the opinion, Prof. Family said the Court gave three no’s and a maybe to the four provisions of the contested immigration bill. For the “maybe” provision that many enforcement-only proponents are hailing as a victory, the Justices ruled that they needed to wait-and-see how the “show me your papers” provision will be implemented by Arizona before they could rule on its constitutionality.
