Contest for National Library Week in Harrisburg

The Library in Harrisburg is having two contests for National Library week. There is a big jar of coffee beans on the Information Desk. All you have to do is guess the number of beans and you will win the beans and a coffee grinder.


There is also a question of the day. All correct answers will be entered into a drawing each day to win prizes donated by Westlaw and Lexis.

National Library Week on the Harrisburg Campus

National Library Week is April 15 – 21 and the Harrisburg Campus in conjuntion with the Law Libraries of Kirkpatrick & Lockhart Preston Gates Ellis LLP and McNees Wallace & Nurick, will be collecting new and gently used books for grades 6-8. Cash (and check) donations are also welcomed! Look for the drop box in the Library Lounge area. The books will benefit the Nativity School.

Pennsylvania Election Judicial Evaluations

In April, the Pennsylvania Bar Association will unveil an informational Web site for the public entitled PAVoteSmart.com The Web site will feature the PBAís Judicial Evaluation Commissionís ratings of appellate candidates, links to appellate candidatesí Web sites and biographies, an explanation of the functions of the Pennsylvania judicial system, and links to other education-related Web sites such as Pennsylvanians for Modern Courts and the League of Women Voters. The Web site will be entirely nonpartisan. The PBA has produced two, 30-second commercials directing the public to the PAVoteSmart.com Web site, and these commercials will be aired on television and radio stations as public service announcements prior to the May primary election.
