Fight Breast Cancer on Lee National Denim Day

Posted by admin on Sep 16, 2006

Lee National Denim Day is the largest single-day fundraiser for breast cancer in the nation. Since 1996, more than $61 million has been contributed to this fight against breast cancer.  Due to Widener University Board of Trustees holding their meeting on the Harrisburg Campus October 6th (we should all look our best that day as they will be touring our entire campus), we will hold our Denim Day on Friday, September 29.

Simply donate $5 or more and wear your favorite jeans and Pink Ribbon Pin on Lee National Denim Day.  The Women’s Cancer Programs of EIF will use the net proceeds to fund groundbreaking early detection research, as well as local community breast cancer education and service programs.

Widener University School of Law School is proud to support this important event.  Faculty, staff, and students wishing to participate in the fund-raising effort on the Harrisburg Campus may make their donation to Kendra Heinbaugh in the Vice Dean’s Office.  Cash or check made out to Widener University will be accepted until 4:00 p.m., Friday, September 29.  Whether or not you choose to wear denim on September 29th, please consider supporting this worthy cause.
