Visit the Online Exam Archive

Posted by admin on Nov 30, 2006

Now that exams are starting, don’t forget that the library has a collection of old exams for your studying pleasure.  Many of the exams are available on the library website here: http://www.law.widener.edu/Law-Library/new/services/exams/index.shtml.

You’ll need a password to access the exams.  Just contact the reference desk by phone (302-477-2114), email (Law.LibRef@law.widener.edu) IM (WidenerLawLib) or in person to get the password.

Not all of the exams are online yet, so if you don’t see the exam you are looking for stop by the library circulation desk to look at the paper copies.

WorldCat Makes it Easy to Find What You Want

Posted by admin on Nov 22, 2006

Now you can use WorldCat to search for books, journals, DVDs and other materials at the Widener Law Library plus 10,000 other libraries worldwide.

Just go to www.worldcat.org and type author, title, or subject in the search box.  Enter your zip code and WorldCat will show you the libraries nearest you (including Widener) that have the item.  If none of the Widener libraries has the item you want you can order it from interlibrary loan.  If you are on campus WorldCat will display a link to ILLiad, our interlibrary loan service, automatically.  If you are off-campus, go to the Widener Law Library web page to submit your interlibrary loan request.

WorldCat also offers some handy browser toolbars for Internet Explorer and Firefox.  When you install one of these toolbars WorldCat is always available for a quick search.

I’ve been using WorldCat to help with law review cite checking and it saves me a lot of time by letting me start my search in one place and showing me where I can find the book I’m looking for at Widener or another library.
