Order Issued in New Jersey / Delaware LNG Dispute

Posted by admin on Jan 30, 2006

The United States Supreme Court has issued an order
appointing a Special Master to investigate the dispute between New
Jersey and Delaware. This dispute involves the ability of Delaware to
prohibit New Jersey from allowing the construction of Liquefied Natural
Gas (LNG) facility on the New Jersey side of the Delaware River. Unlike
most states that split control of the waterways that divide them,
Delaware’s boundary extends up to the low-tide mark on the shore of New
Jersey. Read about the centuries old dispute regarding the New Jersey
and Delaware border here
