CRS reports available online

Posted by admin on Nov 10, 2005

A website was launched by the Center for Democracy & Technology to make CRS reports publicly available. What are CRS reports and why should you care? CRS reports are detailed analysis written by the Congressional Research Service (CRS), an arm of the Library of Congress, for members of the U.S. Congress. THe CRS does not consider it their mandate to make the reports they produce available to the public. However, constitutents have always been able to request copies of these reports from their representatives in Congress; assuming they know which reports are available. The Open CRS Network hopes to make as many reports as possible available to the public, they even hope that members of the public will add additional reports to the database. Visit http://www.opencrs.com/ to view this project.
